A Philadelphia teen says her “harmful” Lyft driver booted her from the automobile and attacked her after she complained about the lady being on the cellphone.
Helene Barrios, 18, railed on Twitter about the violent altercation Sunday, explaining in a collection of posts that the driver pulled out her cellphone through the journey to reply a cellphone name.
“She was being loud and obnoxious on the cellphone name after which turned the music all the way in which up,” Barrios wrote. “I requested her to decrease it down as a result of it’s too loud.”
However she mentioned that’s when issues turned heated.
“She then clearly will get offended and tells me she felt dangerous power from me once I first obtained within the automobile,” Barrios mentioned.
The lady pulled over and allegedly booted Barrios from the automobile — after which started attacking the teen for beginning to document the battle with her cellphone.
“As I name someone over to name the police, she will get aggressive and wraps her arm round me making an attempt to seize my cellphone,” Barrios wrote. “I push her off me and that’s when she hits me and I begin to defend myself.”
Barrios mentioned she was left bleeding and with abrasions from the incident, along with her iPhone display screen being cracked.
Images posted to Twitter confirmed Barrios’ bruised face and a piece of hair that had apparently yanked out within the brawl.
“Me and my household are nonetheless in shock with what occurred and I will likely be in ache for the following few days,” she wrote. “I want justice to be served I don’t need her to harm anyone else’s little one.”
Lyft mentioned in a press release that driver had been banned from the rideshare platform.
“The incident described is troubling,” a spokesperson mentioned. “Neighborhood security is prime to Lyft, and we’ve got been in contact with the rider to increase our help. We now have completely banned the driver from Lyft and stand prepared to help legislation enforcement.”
